They say three is the charm and today, I agree!

Today was my third day that I have been accounting for all food/drink items that enter my mouth.  And I did it! I had my targeted amount of daily calories AND had exercise!! Let me tell you, I was pretty scared after the first 2 days. My calories for those days 2,300 and 2,500.  But today, I think I learned MY TRICK!! Maybe it will work for someone else too.

First, I exercised. This took up some time (I find that I am a bored grazer). I had to get ready, put shoes on (teehee), and go outside for a walk.  It was nice. I saw birds and squirrels, my neighbors flowers, crazy drivers and kids playing at a park.  I even saw moms of all shapes walking their babies in strollers (that’s right - babies!! How do you do it, that’s what I want to know).

Second, I decided to only eat because I was hungry AND had an idea of what I was going to shove in my mouth when I was HUNGRY a little in advance. I think for me, I eat everything that looks yummy (or is not rotten or expired) when I am hungry.  Today, I limited myself to two choices for each meal.  For me this can be challenging because I usually eat every 3-4 hours when I wait til I am hungry.

Well, tomorrow is another day.  I am looking forward to it because I have proved to myself that I can do this!

Six weeks after surgery….

Right after I originally started on buddyslim, I had to have a hysterectomy.  This week is coming up on my 6 week doctor visit and I hope to be released for normal living.  My goal this week is to watch my calorie intake. Also to incorporate 20 mins of walking each day.  I have noticed changes in my body from surgery and they are not positive.  My stomach seems to have grown in shape, especially my lower abdomen.  My non stretchy pants, kind of tight.  I had a newer laparoscopic procedure done which they told me would not cut through muscles.  But for some reason, I feel like I can’t suck my stomach in. So I will start by walking everyday and hope that it will help to firm up my stomach again.

I am really scared though because I have gone so far the other way that I am not sure if I can control myself with eating better. And lately, I find myself craving SUGAR, once I start I don’t seem to be able to slow it down.

Well here’s to a week of working to get stronger!!
